Huge update to Illustration section! Added a bunch of caricatures as well as other illustrations.

New Set of Storyboards added from my work on Stuntman Ignition.

I've been been getting back into Life Drawing! Bunch of new ones added.

And finally, there have also been some new Sketches added too.

Flytrap - Episode 3

New comic, new illustrations, new sketches!

The first order of business is: Flytrap - Episode Three: Over the Wall, a new comic written by Sara Ryan. This one takes us back to Bishop's past, in which we find out about the origin of his first tattoo.

I have been experimenting a lot with cartoon and caricature. Check out a bunch of new drawings in the Illustration and Sketch galleries!

On another note, I have just come back from San Diego Comic Convention, and I had a great time. I spent most of my time at Artist Alley, with my studio mates from Periscope Studio. Along with the third Flytrap we were selling, Sara also had two other brand new minicomics out on the table, by Cat Ellis, and Dylan Meconis. All three did quite successfully.

Time not spent at Artist Alley was either spent just walking around and taking in the rather crazy sights of the convention floor, or with my friends at Viper Comics. The trade paperback of the comic I did for them, A Dummy's Guide to Danger, was debuted at the convention, and they sold out of all the copies they brought. Ask your local comic shop to order it, or order it directly from the Viper website.

Flytrap!

I just attended the New York Comic Con a bit ago, and visited my friend Sean Kelley (go check out his webcomic, Negative Space!). Definitely good times experiencing NY. While there I was contacted my my friends at the CG studio Pendulum, and they asked me to come down to San Diego immediately for some more storyboarding work, so after returning to Portland for only one day, I flew out again to San Diego. It'll be a while before they're out, but I've been working on storyboards for cinemas that'll be in a new WWE game, as well as Dark Sector. If you haven't heard of Dark Sector, you should go find out more about it at their website. It looks sweet!

Sufjan Stevens

So, I just came back from seeing Sufjan Stevens and labelmates My Brightest Diamond. My Brightest Diamond, I had never heard before, but provided a pleasant, although brief opening act. Sufjan Stevens, or perhaps more appropriately (being there were 15 of them) the Sufjan Stevens Orchestra, was totally fricken awesome. With how layered and complex his songs can be, I expected more people on stage than an average band, but I didn't think there would be that many. Fifteen strong, with neat uniforms that had wings attatched, and feathery masks covering their faces when first walking on stage, they entered with quite a presence. They continued on to play a great set filled with some of my favorite songs, as well as some amusing between song banter from Sufjan. If you have a chance to see them live sometime, I highly recommend it.

On another note, it appears that October is the month of concerts for me. Usually I only go to about one each month, but there are about 5 in October that I want to go to. I'll probably only end up attending three of them though, since I am trying to save some money... Up next, The Dresden Dolls.

Welcome back all to RonChan.net! After quite a haitus, I have finally updated my website. There is a whole bunch of new content in all parts of the site as well as some slight design changes throughout. Take a gander around, and I hope you enjoy the new work!

I have officially finished and turned in the last issue of A Dummy's Guide to Danger. The second issue of the 4-issue miniseries should be in stores now, or any day now. Go look for in your local comic shop. If they don't have it, you can ask them to add it to their next order for you. You can also order it, along with the first issue, direct from Viper Comics.

...and about time too. I'm very close to being finished drawing the last issue of A Dummy's Guide to Danger, and the next order of business will be to finally update this website. There will be some format changes, including this blog on the main page, as well as Photoshop generated galleries rather than manually made ones. These won't be as attractive, but because they are so much easier to maintain, hopefully I will update much more often. That's the plan. Check back soon!
